Gilgamesh rose!

Thanks to all those of you who came to support the performance of Gilgamesh Rising at the Ashmolean on Saturday.  I will post any reviews that appear (only the good ones of course!) but in the mean time here’s a pic!

Gilgamesh at Oxfringe

Performance at the Ashmolean

Gilgamesh Rising

Sat 8 Jun, 3–3.30pm & 4.30–5pm

An OxFringe Event with the Proverbial Hat Theatre Company

Experience a funny and moving dramatisation of the epic Gilgamesh, narrated by the ordinary people of Mesopotamia and the eponymous hero himself. Ashmolean Atrium. Free, no booking required.

This Saturday,  I will be joining some of my fellow students in a couple of performances of Jenny Lewis’s memorable translation of Gilgamesh. It should be atmospheric, performed amongst the great statues and monuments of the Ashmolean. We tried to take a cast photo but couldn’t manage the necessary gravitas! Do come along for a great day out in Oxford.
